Tom Gamache Bio

Tom Gamache

Tom Gamache grew up in New England where he experienced the wonder and beauty of the outdoors exploring the areas many lakes, rivers and mountains. He attended Boston University’s School of Public Communication where he studied photography and broadcasting. His interest in the popular cultures of broadcasting, music and art continue, but it is in the field of Landscape Photography that he has found mastery, accomplishment and fulfillment.
After more than 30 years as a professional fine art photographer, Tom Gamache’s name has become synonymous with exquisite natural and cultural landscape photography. His company "Wandering Around Outdoors" was appropriately named for his legendary road trip adventures, often covering many thousands of on-the-ground miles discovering, rediscovering and resolving his experiences into images that capture the art, the power and the ever-changing personality of nature.

Based upon his many years of outdoor experience, Tom offered the first "Wandering Around Outdoors" photography workshop more than seven years ago. The current workshop offering called the "Masters Program" combines both classroom examples and demonstrations with field assignments and lively discussions. The Masters Program is a proven, concise and easy-to-follow curriculum that describes and displays the principles, devices and secrets used for centuries by world renowned masters of both painted and photographic landscapes.  The Masters Program emphasizes composition and camera control, both digital and film, so you can capture nature's beauty and complexity just as the Masters did.

His work appears in many domestic and international books and magazines as well as interpretive displays and visitor centers from Maine's Acadia National Park to Sequoia/Kings Canyon, Death Valley and Yosemite National Parks in California. Other recent credits include:
